Tips to Improve Performance of Headlights Using Toothpaste for Cleaning

Buying a car is far from being a huge deal nowadays. It is easy to grab a car now. However, as soon as the car is here, the greatest job that needs to be taken care of is the maintenance. We want our car to look shiny as well as new even if it is more than two years old. It may not always be possible to purchase cleaning kits and in such a scenario, it is difficult to maintain the jazzy appearance.

Even if you wash your car regularly, you do not always clean the headlights. The dust particles lead to scratches and long period of usage tend to make it dull looking. Though it is always better to replace them, you can also clean the performance headlights at times to make it appear as new. You can opt for toothpaste to clean them. This is not just time saving but will also be cost effective.

Toothpaste Selection: Toothpaste is a mild abrasive that helps to fill the scratches. Avoid the ones that include cooling crystals or any other fancy item since this can lead to scratches while you rub them on headlights. Go for the basic ones instead.

Steps to Clean the Headlights: Below discussed are simple ways that will aid in getting rid of fog and allow to see things better while traveling at night.

•  Take a dry rag or towel and squeeze toothpaste over it.
•  Spread the paste evenly on the headlight and begin rubbing it in circular motions gently. Rub it until you feel the grime to be coming off.
•  Check out to find whether the fog is gone or continue rubbing. Never be harsh.
• As soon as you are done, splash water. Now rinse properly till the paste is removed completely.
•  Take a rag and wipe it dry and clean. You will note a huge difference. Repeat the whole process now on the other headlight.

Is this Solution Long Lasting?

As soon as it comes to cleaning, we wonder about the time it will last and when do we need to do this again. Cleaning using toothpaste is a temporary solution. Thus, this will never last for very long. You need to repeat this process once in every two or three months.

Toothpaste usage is one of the easiest ways to get rid of the grime. However, since this is a temporary solution, you need to opt for new performance headlights soon.
