Selecting the Right Bulb for Chevy Headlights

If the bulbs of your Chevy headlights get damaged or stop functioning, you will need to replace them with the ones available in the market. Some of the types of bulbs and headlights that you can choose from are given below.

OEM Bulbs:
This is the cheapest bulb available in the market for replacing the original ones. The branded ones offer best service in terms of brightness but try not to buy the highly inexpensive ones as they adversely affect the car’s parts.

Long-lasting Bulbs:

These lights are useful for those that need to keep the headlights running almost all day long, especially for those cars that keep the lights on during the day or that cover long distances. These bulbs offer greater vibration resistance and increased lifespan owing to the unusually heavy filaments used for making the bulbs. They do not increase the light intensity and in fact turn yellow with time. As an initial investment they are a little expensive but their service life compensates for their costing.

Bulbs for Style:

Another option is the styling bulb which is normally used to make the car look more stylish with the alteration of colors of the car’s light. The blue tint effect is highly popular and is quite similar in color to the HID light. You can choose from other colors available also. Keep in mind that if your light is more towards the blue shade, you may have to get into legal issues with the traffic police.

These styling bulbs produce less intensity light in comparison to the standard bulbs for Chevy headlights and at times the color coating is responsible for reduced visibility in output of light. Hence, if you need to cover lots of dark roadways, these lights are not recommended for your cars. These auto parts cost slightly more than the standard ones with the same service life as them.

Option Variety:

Among other available options for this auto part replacement, an HID kit upgrading increases the light intensity of the bulbs three times the normal intensity. This, however, does not come under direct replacement. To get the HID upgraded an additional ballast unit is required for the voltage supply necessary. The newer models have LED lights installed in them. But technology has not been able to upgrade halogen lights to LED and you would need to get the entire unit replaced. You may find varieties of LED bulbs that are of the size of headlight bulbs but they do not display the same light intensity as the original ones found in present-day cars. The output quality of the light is pretty low.

Headlight Variety:

The various categories of headlights that are normally available for the brand, Chevy, include the following:

Euro
Projector
LED
CCFL

Replacing the old ones with new headlights is an easy process. These lights not only improve the visibility for the driver but also make the car appear more elegant.

You can buy Chevy headlights or bulbs from any of the online aftermarket companies. There are a few reputed online companies that offer exclusive selection of these auto parts at attractive rates. These companies focus on delivering high quality parts of big brand names in the automobile industry. Thus, your shopping experience will be much safer and you will get your investment’s worth.
